Dougie Cunningham – Photographing Scotland
Amazing, Brilliant, Exceptional, A must have, The Ultimate Guide for Photographing Scotland are just some of the superlatives used to describe ‘Photographing Scotland’. If you’re lucky enough to already own the book them I’m sure you will only agree, for those who don’t own a copy, what are you waiting for??
Amazing, Brilliant, Exceptional have also been used to describe last Thursday nights “lecture” at Greenock Camera Club from the books author Dougie Cunningham. Calling it a lecture doesn’t do the night justice, it felt more like a mini tour of Scotland told by a passionate and dedicated photographer who for 2 and half hours invited us all along on his journeys which culminated in this extraordinary book.
Dougie showed that it doesn’t matter if you are taking in a sunrise whilst sitting on the ridge of An Teallach, climbing through the clouds on Beinn a’ Chrùlaiste to see the Great Shepherd of Etive flooded by a cloud inversion or simply sheltering from the wind in the back of your van, the scenery of Scotland is a photographers paradise.
Every image provided another reason to pack up the car, jump on the train, go for a walk or buy yourself a “Sully” and head out into the wilds of Scotland.
The club would like to thank Dougie once again for an entertaining and informative evening and we look forward to your next installment.
